Blog Post – August 23rd

This past Saturday I went to a cars and coffee event. The event took place in a large parking lot and at the event there were many different types of cars ranging from classic cars, to regular looking cars with modded accessories and even souped up sports cars. As I was walking around and taking pictures, however, this particular car caught my attention. I found it interesting that unlike the rest of the cars at the event which were mostly very fancy or classic cars, this car was simply a recreation of a famous movie car. It made me wonder what inspired the owner of the to make it look like Lightning McQueen from Cars and wonder whether they used it as a daily driver or if they simply kept in their car for parties and special events like cars and coffee. I also wanted to ask the owner how hard it was to make his car look like Lightning McQueen, however, the owner was unfortunately not by their car. Many of the people who attended the event simply parked their cars and proceeded to walk around admiring the other cars while people admired theirs.

  1. Very cool seeing the juxtaposition of the toy car and the real thing right above it. It’s always very interesting and cool to see what people in the car community can come up with when they have all the time and money in the world. Very cool image; could’ve maybe added more of the car, but overall, very cool photograph.
